Metal Slug has been one of my biggest inspirations in pixel art and Artificer is basically my love letter to the series and to Nazca.
It'll be very similar to Metal Slug, a run and gun shoot 'em up platformer with a focus on monstrous bosses to fight and weapon upgrading.

The game will most likely not be very long, following the Metal Slug standard of 5 stages which will be relatively short.

 

Second level fake out boss, it’s a giant beached ship named E.B. Khan. The ship’s got a bunch of guns that will be taken out individually or something like that, and when it dies Dobbelt Kriger will smash out of it and the actual boss fight starts.
